The Belgian Society for Vascular Surgery (BSVS) 

 

The Belgian Society for Vascular Surgery (BSVS) is an association for the professional interest of vascular surgeons in Belgium and promotes the scientific knowledge in the field of vascular surgery.


The definition of vascular surgery is the clinical and scientific discipline concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases affecting blood vessels and lymphatics. This definition is formulated by the Board of Vascular Surgery of the European Community in Aosta on march 26, 1992.

The BSVS started in 1992 and you can find the statutes in the library of this site. It is an Belgian society which respects the parity between the dutch and french language. In the board-members of the BSVS there is an equilibrium in languages. 

"Belgisch Genootschap voor Vaatheelkunde, BGVH" and "Societe Belge de Chirurgie Vasculaire, SBCV" are synonymous for the BSVS. 

All members are invited on the meetings organized by the board the BSVS.


There are different workgroups focusing on the scientific and educational items related to vascular surgery. The workgroups use the dutch or french language or can be bilingual. The different topics of the workgroups are represented in both languages. All members are invited on the meetings organized by the board of the workgroups related to there language, but a workgroup can organize national meetings independent of language.
